Visit Tabor in 2024

Founded in 1420 by the Hussites, Tábor quickly became an important center for the reformist movement. Its storied history is manifest in landmarks such as the Žižka Square and the underground tunnel system that meanders below the town. Yet Tábor is far from a living museum; it's a vibrant town that balances its rich past with modern-day amenities and activities.
The labyrinthine, cobblestoned Old Town is a delight to explore, with an array of boutiques, cafes, and galleries that have sprung up in the carefully restored historical buildings. Meanwhile, the Jordan reservoir offers outdoor enthusiasts an ideal setting for boating, swimming, and fishing.
For cultural aficionados, the Hussite Museum provides deep insights into the religious movement that once swept through Bohemia. The town also serves as an excellent starting point for hiking and biking tours in the beautiful Bohemian countryside that surrounds it.
